Farewell to our Year 6's

Dear Parents/ Carers

WOW! What and amazing year! It feels like yesterday, when we had anxious new little faces walk through our doors. A year later we have happy smiling faces leaving for a well-deserved summer break.

There is always a bit of sadness at the end of the year, when we have to say our goodbyes to our year 6 pupils, especially this year’s cohort. They filled our year with a lot of smiles and funny moments, and they will be greatly missed. I wish you all well and hope you make the most of all opportunities coming your way.

As mentioned before, there have been a few positive developments this year such as the new classrooms that have been completed and are fully functional, which means we will be increasing our numbers to 101.  AMO and our Forest school will officially start in September and the new astro turf will be completed by the end of the summer break.

I also want to thank our parents for your ongoing support and sharing our vision of making Larwood an outstanding SEMH provision. I also want to thank our wonderful pupils that try their best every day. It was amazing to see our football team compete against staff in a very tense match, with the result going in favour of our youngsters.

A few things that stood out to me this year were our residential trips, academic progress, end of term trips, parent involvement and the amazing number of pupils gaining their coloured shirts and hoodies. For those leaving us and those returning: WELL DONE AND KEEP IT UP!

We have to say our farewells to a number of staff that will be leaving us at the end of this term. Mrs. Wood, Ms. Smith and Ms. Jarvis have made a huge impact on the school and the pupils, and they will be greatly missed. I wish them well with their future endeavours and hopefully they will visit us at regular intervals.

A final thank you to all staff at all levels. This has been a very challenging year, but it is rewarding to see the effort made with pupils daily, the dedication and commitment to ensure the needs of each and every pupil are met and the enthusiasm with which you approach every day. Thank you!

I wish you all a fantastic summer break filled with fun and laughter!
