Mr Van's Autumn Blog

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this message finds you well. I extend my sincere apologies for the delay in my regular blog updates, but I wanted to take the time to thoroughly assess the impact of the increased pupil numbers at Larwood School. I am delighted to report that the new academic year has kicked off with tremendous success.

Our dedicated staff members have been working tirelessly to ensure that pupils feel comfortable amidst the changes within the school, and I am pleased to share that our students have responded exceptionally well, adapting seamlessly to the adjustments. One notable addition is our new Forest School, and the feedback from pupils has been overwhelmingly positive. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff who have played a crucial role in running and supporting this fantastic new venture.

Another noteworthy initiative that has been warmly received is AMO (Alternative Meaningful Opportunities). Although currently offered to students from Brandles, this facility is poised for growth and will soon include pupils from Larwood. I extend my gratitude to the staff involved in the setup and ongoing operation of AMO.

To all parents/carers who took the time to complete our online survey, I offer my sincere thanks. Your views and opinions serve as the compass guiding our school development, and we are committed to adapting our practices based on your valuable feedback.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the departure of a long-standing member of our staff, Mrs. Kamene. Having been with us for many years and most recently managing Space Hub, she will be leaving at the end of this term. I wish her the very best in all her future endeavours.

As we bid farewell to one chapter, we turn our attention to the festive season. The period leading up to Christmas is always a bustling and joyous time. Please stay updated on upcoming events by keeping an eye on the weekly newsletter, Class Dojo, and our website. We wouldn't want anyone to miss out on the festivities.

Wishing you all a fantastic and peaceful festive season!

Mr. Van
